Hospital Sponsors Special Therapeutic Movement and Exercise Program

February 06, 2008

The Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center is offering a special program for cancer survivors and those with chronic illnesses, entitled: “The Lebed Method™: Focus on Healing Through Movement and Dance.”  The weekly program is being offered in both Madison and Middletown on Thursday evenings.

Focus on Healing is a gentle therapeutic exercise program set to music that is designed to promote stretching and total body movement in a supportive, relaxed and enjoyable setting. The movements help cancer survivors and those with chronic illnesses to regain mobility and range of motion. No prior exercise or dance experience is required.

The facilitator for the program is Guilford resident Susan Sandel, Ph.D., ADTR, CLM.  Dr. Sandel is a registered dance/movement therapist and certified instructor in The Lebed Method™, and has over 35 years of experience in the field of movement.
