Pediatrics

Pediatricians provide primary medical care for newborns, infants, children, and teenagers. A seamless referral system exists with both Connecticut Children's Medical Center and The Children's Hospital at Yale-New Haven Hospital for those patients who require subspecialty care. Many members of the Department of Pediatrics hold teaching positions at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Special areas of interest include care of the premature infant, care of the disabled child, adolescent gynecology, pediatric asthma, and Attention Deficit Disorder.
